Owned and operated by Mike and Carol Beamish, we are a family-run small-batch craft distillery located in Warren Grove, Prince Edward Island.
Our distillery started to take root in 1990 when we planted our first 200 apple trees. By 1995 we had two acres of trees and decided to open up our own u-pick. In 2005 we transitioned our operation to be completely certified organic.
The orchard had always operated as a hobby farm with lots of help from our five children and extended family and friends. However, in 2012 the idea of operating a distillery started to ferment. Besides being a fun retirement project for Mike it was a way to use a lot of the fruit that was not suitable for the fresh apple market. Fast forward to July 2014 when we released our flagship Island Tide spirit. From there we crafted our popular Maple Liqueur using pure syrup from our son Greg’s maple grove as well as syrup from New Brunswick and Nova Scotia.
We now have a variety of delicious, Island-made products to share with you. We were awarded 4 medals by Artisan Distillers Canada for their Canadian Artisan Spirit competitions. One of our most unique spirits, Absinthe, won a gold medal and best in class! We are very proud of these accomplishments and will use this momentum to carry us toward new and exciting creations.
