Sow Local Seeds is a 1/4 acre, seed producing farm and seed company on the Eastern Shore, NS.Theyspecialize in cut flower seeds and tomato varieties developed by Canadian breeder, Karen Olivier. Erika, the seed farmer is an advocate for local seed production and is the author of True-to-Type: Saving and Selling Cut Flower Seeds for Profit and Joy (releases in sept 2026). Sow Local Seeds is working toward organic certification.
When you visit this farm you'll tour the seed storage space at Sow Local Seeds and see small scale seed cleaning equipment in use. You might be surprised to find out that learn that small scale seed production is done mainly by hand.
